If you're anything like me, actually scrap that, if you're a human living on planet earth in 2020, the goals you set in January are probably not going to plan. I'm the kind of person who can't sit still for too long, but definitely found myself sitting on the sofa for a full month. That's ok though, and it’s to be expected given that we're living through a global pandemic!
So lets take a minute to refresh & re-evaluate these goals! I think this is something everyone should do mid-year regardless of whether or not a pandemic has derailed your plans. Mid-year is a perfect opportunity to look back, assess your progress so far and work out where you want to go from here.
Firstly, let's re-visit our January goals-are they still relevant, still something you want to work towards? Do you have new goals?
Take your newly updated list & work out what's realistic in the last 6 months of the year? If 6 months is an overwhelming length of time, break them down into monthly of quarterly goals.
At this point its a good idea to factor in big events-I've made this mistake too many times in the past, planning big projects to end my year on a high, completely forgetting how much time Christmas takes up, in terms of social events & my work schedule.
Lastly, don't be too hard on yourself! We've All had the craziest year and it's ok to not be focused on your goals all the time. But if you're facing ready to pick up where you left off, grab your planner & get to work- 2020 is not over yet, so let's get it back on the right track!
