This A5-size graph notebook is landscape-oriented and features a pastel drawing by Kyohei Sakaguchi on the cover.
The artwork is the same as the cover design of the Weeks Hobonichi Techo titled En Route to Kumamoto Port at Dawn.
To capture the expansive, uplifting feeling of the landscape stretching across your field of vision—as Sakaguchi’s paintings often do—the notebook was designed to be used horizontally in landscape format.
The silver-foiled text on the cover, “A notebook to help me remember,” is the English translation of a phrase found in Sakaguchi’s cooking journal COOK, that perfectly captures the spirit of this notebook.
With 288 pages and a thickness of 11mm, the notebook is made with Tomoe River paper—lightweight yet durable—and opens flat at 180 degrees.
The grid is slightly larger than that of the Hobonichi Techo, using a 5mm graph layout.
The grid lines are a soft sky-blue color, chosen to match the hues in the cover artwork—gentle enough not to interfere with either writing or drawing.
The back cover features another of Sakaguchi’s pastel works, Night in Porto, drawn on May 31, 2020, and included in his art collection Pastel.
You start your day with a morning scene, and close the notebook with a night scene.
Let the notebook accompany you freely as you reflect on shifting landscapes, cities, skies, and times—each from distant corners of the world.
As an official UK Hobonichi stockist we are delighted to be able to offer the 2026 Hobonichi collection.
