Blackwings are made from Californian incense cedar and Japanese graphite and are widely considered to be amongst the best pencils in the world.

Blackwing's range of core pencils consists of 4 smooth graphite cores of varying degrees of hardness. The Matte is the softest lead, followed by the Pearl, the 602, and finally the hardest, the Natural.
