We created pencil boards using artworks by Kubota Hiroko we previously featured in the Hobonichi Techo lineup.
The A6 size is called Aurora Duty. This illustration was used for the English edition exclusive Weeks design and the Hobonichi Paper(s) in the Hobonichi Techo 2023 lineup. It shows a polar bear “on duty” to draw an aurora across the sky.
The A5 size features Count the Lights, a popular design in the Hobonichi Techo 2022 lineup. It depicts a sky deep in a sunset during that magical time when the sun is just about to disappear for the day. The back shows how the town sparkles like stained glass up close, almost looking like a textile.
The illustration for the Weeks size is featured in this year’s techo cover titled Twinkle-shells. The train running across the sky and the stars in the shape of seashells create a dream-like view with a sense of quietness.
One side is labeled by millimeter to act as a metric ruler, and a “Today” tab on the corner marks the current page if you’d like to use it as a bookmark as well.
