Yamamoto Glassine Paper is a premium translucent sheet stock created through intensive mechanical processing of chemical pulp, followed by supercalendering under extreme pressure. This densification process dramatically reduces fiber spacing, yielding exceptional transparency whilst maintaining structural integrity. The resulting smooth, glass-like surface makes it ideal for pharmaceutical and food packaging applications where clarity and barrier properties matter.
While it is possible to write on Glassine paper because it is so smooth ink will take longer to dry and is prone to smearing. We would recommend writing with ballpoint pens or using the paper to make glassine envelopes and other craft projects.
